Assistance Program

To assist members who are financially impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic, we have developed a Coronavirus Member Assistance Program. Members may defer monthly payments on their loans and Visa credit cards. All loan types may be deferred up to 90 days, and Visa credit cards may be deferred up to 60 days. This is an alternative to Skip-A-Pay, and there is no fee to use this program.

If you wish to participate in the Coronavirus Member Assistance Program (MAP), you must complete and sign the MAP Form in order for your request to be considered. We encourage you to submit completed MAP Forms via email to hardship@emeraldgcu.com when possible, but you may mail or deliver them to our branch. Please note this request cannot completed or processed over the phone. Your request will be processed once it is received.

Hardship Loans

Hardship Loans are now available to help with your expenses during this uncertain time. Features include:
  • No collateral needed
  • No loan processing fee
  • Low fixed rate
  • Borrow up to $2000
  • Terms up to 36 months
  • No payment for 90 days (optional)
When applying for the Hardship Loan, please be prepared to supply a short letter explaining your hardship. For example, "I was laid off because the coronavirus caused my place of employment to close."  Please submit any supporting documentation along with your letter, if available. If you are receiving or scheduled to receive unemployment compensation, you must also provide documentation as proof of income. Apply today, and let us help you weather the storm.

If applying online, select Personal Loan and list the purpose as "Hardship." Our Member Service Representatives will contact you in the order loan requests are received. Members may also call 216-581-5581 to apply over the phone.
